Re: Eddie Howe
I don’t really understand that logic.

What do you actually wat the owners to do? I’m certainly not defending them but they brought in a decent manager and gave him a lot of money to spend. But you seem to be making excuses for Pellegrini?

Maybe a bit of patience is needed? It seems like everything needs to be instant these days.

Our biggest fuck up this season was playing an under strength team in the FA Cup. That was down to Pellegrini. The players need to take responsibility too and start earning their money.

The owners backed the manager this season and I’d say he’s probably under achieved so far.

Re: Eddie Howe
The recruitment under the spivs tenure has been appalling, why should anyone be fair to them? Decent windows once in a blue moon and the manager is expected to fix all the imbalances in the squad, all the old slow players, all the perma crocks in a few months? Yes, he is a good manager. He is better at his job than the spivs are at theirs that's for sure but he aint a miracle worker.

Re: Eddie Howe
To be fair to the owners, they brought in a manager with pedigree and gave him money to spend. I think they will be as frustrated as we are with the way the season is petering out.

Re: Eddie Howe
Not the sort of manager to give money to. Lacks any kind of pedigree to manage any big club. Multi millionaire players would just walk all over him.

Re: Eddie Howe
What's the point of changing managers when the problem is the spivs in the boardroom, everything we do whilst they are in charge is just papering over cracks.

Sir Alf - He didn't struggle at Burnley, I think he left as his wife couldn't settle up there and he set up a lot of good things which Dyche benefited from.

Funny to think that Charlton fans thought that Curbs had "taken us as far as he can" and so replaced him with Ian Dowie.

I like him but I think most managers will struggle working under the trio of cunts in charge

Re: Eddie Howe
The sad thing is the teams at our level even spending a decent amount and doing a lot of things right, seem to hit a wall.

Everton did okay today against a poor Arsenal side but they spent a ton as well and are fighting for 7th, miles off 6th.

Re: Eddie Howe
As Miike says, bit of a myth that they are working wonders with no money, as far as I'm aware.

Didn't they spend hugely to get through the divisions? Hardly having to find players for half a mill these days either.

Anyway, maybe not quite so David and Goliath as it's cracked up to be, but he's still done a great job.

they spent £80m during the last year, he's not working on peanuts

Re: Eddie Howe
Eusebiovic :-)

I would not want us to be his next club after leaving the only team he has had any real success with. And success here is relative. What he has done is keep a very small club in he top league and had them playing decent football with largely budget priced players. A great achievement but what happens when he starts managing prima donna, millionaire players? Where expectations are higher etc?

I personally always prefer to see a manager that has success at a few clubs as it tends to suggest his methods are transferable and he too can adjust to different circumstances. Howe may prove a success wherever he goes now but I seem to recall he struggled badly at Burnley? I think? Ok a few years ago so he has a lot more experience. But like I say, would not want us to be his next gig.
